The English
In the late 1990's, I was commissioned by German magazine Stern to spend two months in England to photograph the British season.
I visited horse races in Ascot, Aintree, the Grand National, he Henley Regatta's, County Cricket Clubs in Kent and Yorkshire, hare coursing in Scotland and England, salmon fishing on the Oykel, Gandhi's circus and minors holiday on the East Coast and football supporters in Manchester.
It was a feast for my eyes, English people celebrate their passion in an endless variety of costumes, have no sense of ridicule and clone themselves on one another in complete eccentricity.
Although an easy target for my laughing eye as a visiting observer , I hope my camera's were as kind to them as my Irish slant would allow them to be.
